Friction parts are the main components of friction clutches, and the physical properties and mechanical properties of their working surface materials directly affect the working performance of the clutch. The main requirements for the material are: large and stable friction coefficient, the dynamic friction coefficient should be as close as possible to the static friction coefficient; high strength, able to withstand impact, not easy to break and peel at high speed; wear resistance, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and good thermal conductivity, thermal conductivity Small deformation; should not cause adhesion when left standing for a long time.

In addition, long service life, easy processing and low price are also required. Commonly used friction surface materials include powder metallurgy materials, asbestos-based materials and paper-based materials. Powder metallurgy materials: The allowable surface temperature, allowable pressure, friction coefficient and service life at high temperatures are all higher. Copper-based powder metallurgy materials are mainly used for wet friction surfaces. Iron-based powder metallurgy materials have higher friction coefficients and allowable pressures than copper-based materials, but have lower wear resistance and are mostly used for dry friction surfaces. Asbestos-based material: It is molded with asbestos plus binder and filler, and is consolidated on a steel or iron base plate. The allowable working temperature is low. Paper-based material: interwoven with asbestos, plant fiber or a mixture of the two, and bonded with resin after adding fillers. This material is porous, has good friction properties, has similar dynamic and static friction coefficients, and has low cost.
